I’ve seen a lot of mock drafts that have the Bears selecting Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin with their first round draft pick. I am writing to implore Jerry Angelo not to select this young man and I have no other reason except the number on his shirt.
We all know someone who wore jersey #8 at Florida and most recently for the Bears, don’t we? Look familiar Rex Grossman haters?
As a bonus reason, another infamous Number 8 for the Bears – CADE McNOWN!!!
In fact, the last decent Bear to wear Number 8 was Maury Buford. I need more cowbell!!!
All kidding aside, it seems like Percy Harvin is a lot like Devin Hester; a burner with top end speed who can go get it. I’m just not sure that a) we need another Hester and b) we have anyone to get it to him. Orton’s deep ball accuracy has been a consistent knock. The Bears effectively got rid of the guy who could throw a decent deep ball when he wasn’t throwing it to the other team. What was his number?

Hello fellow Bears fans!!! Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mike Burzawa, but those closest to me know me as Boomer. It’s a nickname that I’ve had for many, many years (long before I ever heard of that guy on ESPN) and I thought I’d post under that alias. I’m the new lead blogger for Bear Goggles On (I can’t take credit for the name), where I’ll be sharing my views and perspectives on the team we all love.
I’m a lifelong Chicagoan and a die hard fan of Da Bears. I’ve been around for the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I mean, what was your favorite moment of the Cade McNown era??? The end, if you ask me!!! I have been going on an annual trip to an away Bears game for the last 13 years, so I’ve seen many different sports cities and I’m here to tell you that Chicago fans are second to none!!! As the greatest fans in the NFL, we deserve the greatest blog. I’ll do my best, but I’ll need your help.
I plan to share my take on the team and give a true fan’s perspective. Every once in a while, I’ll put the “Bear” goggles on and sip the Orange and Blue Kool Aide, but I’ll also “Lower the Boom” when I think it’s called for.
