Back to Business for Bears after defeat of Broncos

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Bears | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Sorry gang, as I’ve told people lately, I feel like an accountant during Tax season.  This is definitely my busy time of the year.  Had the first of 3 fantasy drafts tonight, so I’ve been slacking a bit in gushing over the latest Bears victory in Jay Cutler’s triumphant return to Denver as the Bears silenced Invesco Field on Sunday night in front of a national audience.
It’s really quite simple; as I watched the game, I kept thinking, that’s a professional quarterback we have.  Our qb’s from days gone by just couldn’t make those throws and just didn’t have the savvy [...]

Bears vs Broncos Preview

After all of the hoopla surrounding Jay Cutler’s return to Denver, let’s not forget there’s actually a football game to be played.   Even though it’s just the preseason, the third game is always the one to focus on the most.  The teams game plan.  The starters play into the third quarter.  This is a close to the regular season as it gets.
Here’s what the guru’s over at ESPN think:

Trent Dilfer brings analysis like he used to bring passes back when he was with Bucs- weak and off the mark.   An opportunity for Kyle Orton?  Gimme a break!
Here are the things [...]

Brandon Marshall Suspended Indefinitely

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Broncos suspended wide receiver Brandon Marshall indefinitely.   At the very least, the Bearswon’t have to face him on Sunday.  That’s good considering our secondary is still depleted.  Let’s see what ESPN’s Adam Schefter had to say about the suspension and Marshall’s future.

Cutler vs Orton – Who’s the better drinker?

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Bears | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

Even though they weren’t really traded solely for one another, Jay Cutler and Kyle Orton will forever be linked. People forget about the other draft picks involved and focus on the active players involved in the deal. They need to believe that they’ve come out on top.  It’s like when you come back from the car dealership, bragging about how you put one over on the dealer and got a steal of a deal on your new ride, while the dealer and his buddies are cracking up about the lemon they just unloaded.
On Sunday night, you will see [...]

Broncos Fans Need to Get Past their Anger towards Cutler

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Bears, NFL | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

Breaking up is hard to do.  No one should know that better than Denver Broncos fans.  They have been going through their ‘breakup’ with Jay Cutler since April; it’s now the end of August.  It’s time to let it go and move on.   Wikipedia lists the 5 stages of grief:
#1 Denial
#2 Anger
#3 Bargaining
#4 Depression
#5 Acceptance
Which stage do you think Broncos fans are stuck on?  Check out these clips:

Chicago Bears – Land of Linkin’

Hooking you up with the links that you need to keep up with all things Bears…
Jay Cutler Superstar asks for predictions for JC’s 2009 stat line.  A certain blogger who shall remain nameless pegged him for 30 TD’s.  What was in that Cutler Kool Aide?  Maybe I should take JC with my #3 fantasy pick?
And speaking of Jay, he only had nice things to say about former coach Josh McDaniels, while he expects a rough ride from Broncos fans in his return to Denver.  Can we call him “former coach” when he never really coached Jay?   How about the guy [...]

Bears Fantasy Defense is overrated?

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

According to ESPN’s Eric Karabell, the Bears Defense is the most overrated in Fantasy Football.  Let’s see what he has to say in his Fantasy Defense Preview…

Really? I’ve been critical of the Bears defense, but struggle to put them in the top half? That might be going a little bit far. While the D hasn’t been at their 2006 Super Bowl level the past couple of seasons, they’re still an opportunistic group creates turnovers and has a great special teams group that should bolster your fantasy stats.
