It’s only Monday, but the Bengals’ Chad Ochocinco is already waist deep in smack talking or tweeting as it goes in today’s day and age. You see, nowadays, you don’t need to bother with extra layers of media and press conferences. Today, you just jump on your Twitter account, locate your next opponents and off you go.
Chad jumped on it right away this morning, calling out Jay Cutler, Alex Brown, Jason McKie, Tommie Harris, Devin Hester and even Bears beat reporter Zach Zaidman!
His exchange with @jaycutler went a little something like this:
So getting it going with JC wasn’t enough:
Meanwhile back in the bat cave, are any other players on twitter besides @jaycutler6, I need to get my point across for Sunday
He tracked down a few more Bears:
@D_Hest23 Devin , wake up!!!
@realdeal91 Tommie why are your db’s scared of me, it’s just a game , tell them to call me out on Wednesday
@Jmack37 dude don’t bother getting dressed Sunday okay!!!!
Then he got it going with Alex Brown:
@alexbrown96: @OGOchoCinco lol my db’s are ready and I have all the respect in the world for Carson but it’s hard to complete passes from his back
It looks like Chad is even trying to set up a lunch date with the Score’s Zach Zaidman after double Z kept re-tweeting Chad’s smack talking.
Speaking of the Score, morning show producer and fellow ChicagoNow blogger Rock Mamola is calling on Bears fans to sign up for Twitter and jam up Chad’s Twitter account with tweets about how the Bears are gonna beat the Bengals on Sunday:
Here’s our goal Bears Fans. Let’s shut down Ocho’s twitter account by flooding it with our own comments about the Bungals and Ocho himself.
Let’s give Ocho so many tweets about how the beloved will roll into the Queen City and shut down that Bungals offense.
Let’s use the same means of technology Ocho uses to trash talk the face of trash talk.
Unless I’m missing something, there’s only one small miscalculation in Rock’s devious plan for world domination – unless Ochocinco follows everyone back, his Twitter feed won’t see any of those tweets. Am I missing the boat with that?
Great idea and I’d love to shut Ochocinco up, but the way I see it, let him pre-occupy himself with Twitter instead of his playbook. Besides, we’ve got bigger fish to fry on Sunday. Yeah, I’m talking about you Benson!
Through the month of October, my usual BEAR DOWN signoff will be in pink to raise awareness for National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
