Viking Funeral: Minnesota sinks Bears

In Norse tradition, they would put their dead leaders in a ship and send it out to sea ablaze. The Vikings gave the Bears a Viking funeral in the Metrodome or the Mall of America Field or whatever the hell they call that house of horrors, trouncing the Bears 36-10 in a beating that was far worse than the score indicated. This was another historic loss that cannot be described as anything less than a complete abomination.

Brett Favre marched the Vikings through the Bears defense more easily than the Nazis rolled through Poland. Actually, that’s an insult to Poland, at least the Poles threw rocks as the German tanks rolled past. (As a first generation Polish-American, I feel I can say that. If it’s offensive to you, I apologize, but too bad). The Bears barely raised a finger as the Vikes rolled up 537 yards of offense. 537 yards!

The DeCon’s Week 12 Fantasy Football Plays

I know I mentioned I HATE Thursday football games, but this is the one week, I LOVE them…how can you go wrong, family (sans inlaws for some of you I’m sure), football and all the food you can stuff into your pieholes!!! I love turkey, but only the white meat. I can’t stand dark meat, so I am going to put a Thanksgiving theme on my picks this week. You should have plenty of players playing tomorrow as some good teams are playing some bad teams, so I wanted to make sure I got this out.

White Meat Plays (guys I like)

Aaron Rodgers, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings and Ryan Grant @ Detroit – Hell, I would probably also throw Jermichael Finley into this bunch…I think GB comes out and stomps Detroit. I know Detroit plays tough on Turkey Day, because it is their birth right to host a game every year, but not this year my friends. GB wins and wins big!!!
Marion Barber vs Oakland – Shocker, I am picking a RB to light up Oakland, but until they can stop anyone on the ground, I will keep picking against them. The Oakland D is 30th against the run and they have allowed a league high 16 rushing TDs. Surprisingly, they are not so bad against the pass, so I expect Barber to gain > 100yds on the ground and likely 2 TDs.
Brett Favre vs Bears - There is really no explanation needed. The Beloved are hurting and Favre’s colors have changed, but the song remains the same. Oh, and he has a pretty good running game to support a lot of play action over the top of our vaunted Tampa Two defense.
Whichever Cincy RB starts vs Cleveland - Whether it is Cedric Benson or Bernard Scott starting for Cincy, they should be starting for you. They will light up Cleveland!!!

Cowher “excited” by Bears job

Have you ever been in a bar and immediately noticed that special someone across the bar, that ideal fantasy girl that makes your jeans a little tight? But just as you’re working up the nerve to approach her while unraveling a sordid fantasy suitable only for a Penthouse letter in your mind, some douche bag approaches your fantasy girl and starts talking her up. A few cheesy lines and several drinks later, your dream girl is rolling off with Captain D-bag and you’re rolling home with nothing but a a feeling of regret and wondering “what if?”

If you get a warm tingly feeling thinking about a former Super Bowl Champion coach patrolling the sidelines along Chicago’s lakefront, take note: the Chicago Bears coaching job would “excite” former Steelers coach Bill Cowher. Sure, the source from the NFL Network lumped the Houston Texans in with the Bears, but who would choose the expansion Texans over the Beloved Bears? Seriously?

You want fire? You want passion? You want “the jaw?” You want the anti-Lovie? Then you want Cowher. Only one problem: Ralph Wilson and the Buffalo Bills are sniffing around Coach Cowher. Bears Fall to Eagles 24-20

The Bears dropped another tough game, falling short 24-20 to the Eagles. Unless they win out, it looks like the only way the Bears will be going to Miami this season is if they buy a ticket!

It looked like things would get out of hand early as the Eagles drove down on their first 2 drives to open up a 10-0 lead. The defense settled down and keep the Bears close.

Knox overthrown

Rookie Kahlil Bell came off the practice squad to fill Garrett Wolfe’s spot and he did so in a big way, tearing off a 72 yard run on his first NFL rushing attempt. Unfortunately, he couldn’t bring it to the house and that was the story for the Bears for much of the night. Robbie Gould kicked 4 field goals and Cutler hit Kellen Davis on a beautiful corner route, but there were plenty of missed opportunities.

Jay Cutler was just thismuch off. He just missed Greg Olsen on a TD route. He just overthrew Devin Hester on another TD. Late in the game, the overthrew Johnny Knox on another route! That, along with INT’s has been the story of the Bears offense this season. They’ve been just a bit off on their timing.

Despite the loss, there were a few bright spots:
