Ebenezer Ditka Rips Cutler and Bears (Video)
Ebenezer Ditka? I couldn’t make this stuff up. Check out this little bit that Da Coach did for the Worldwide Leader: I’m glad he got it right by the end of the video, because the first ‘Beh Humbug’ really disappointed me. Can’t argue with what he said – he’s dead on, although now the Cutler-meter stands at 25. I think if we wanted to play out A Christmas Carol a bit more, it should be Ebenezer McCaskey getting visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. I’m not that up on my old Christmas movie trivia, so help [...]
Bad Bears Football – Bear Dawn (12/21)
Sorry kids….I’m too depressed to have any lead-in for today. Let’s just get straight to the links. ChicagoNow Again, Jeff Hughes wants Lovie gone. This wannabe wanksta raps about the Ravens. Chicago Sun-Times Rick Morrissey: The Bears are really, really bad, but Jerry Angelo has no right to judge Lovie’s fate. Mike Mulligan: Jerry has done a bad job of identifying talent and Lovie has done a bad job of developing talent. Jerry Angelo said prior to the Ravens game that Lovie’s job isn’t necessarily safe.
Bears Buried in Baltimore: Ravens Win 31-7
On the day after the East Coast was buried under nearly two feet of snow, the Chicago Bears were buried by the Baltimore Ravens, falling 31-7 in yet another humiliating loss. If you didn’t have the stomach for the game or if you were busy shoveling, here is a link to the lowlights. After the game, talk of job security and votes of confidence dominated the postgame discussion. That seems to be at the core of the problem; there is more concern about saving jobs and laying blame for another forgettable season rather than attempting to actually, oh, I don’t [...]
According to the Tribune’s Brad Biggs (it’s still strange saying that since he jumped over from the Sun Times), the Bears were supposed to leave on Friday night, but due to mechanical problems on their team charter, their flight was canceled. Normally the Bears leave for road games on Saturday afternoon, but with the impending snowstorm set to hit Baltimore this weekend, the team decided to leave early. Check out the details here: The Bears were not scheduled to leave O’Hare Friday night on their United Airlines charter flight until 10:30 p.m. The team sat on the plane for two hours [...]
Behind Enemy Lines – Bear Dawn (12/18)
I tell ya what….this Mike Burzawa guy is something else, huh? Actually, he really is. He just launched Fire Lovie Smith on Chicago Now. Usually, I don’t like blindly calling for this coach and that coach to get fired, mostly because that’s a lame, lethargic attempt at an argument. However, as we’ve all seen this year, his ineptness has proven too great for a team too riddled with holes. He’s gotta go. Make sure to check out the two links in the ChicagoNow section from Mike. Today’s Bear Dawn is a little bit different - I’ll be bringing you the usual Bears-related stories, but at [...]
Rumor: Lovie will be back in 2010
Sources in Halas Hall are spreading a nasty rumor – Lovie Smith will be back as the Bears coach in 2010. Here’s the worst part Bears fans – it’s about the money. Check out this little video clip from Moon Mullin, who broke the story on his CSN Chicago blog: I’ve got more analysis on this at my new blog – FIRE LOVIE SMITH – over at Chicago Now. (Nothing like being direct, huh?) Be sure to check in there regularly as we build our case to FIRE LOVIE. BEAR DOWN!!!
12 Days of Bearsmas (Audio)
In the spirit of the season, The Score’s Dan McNeil and Santa’s little helper Matt Spiegel have created the 12 Days of Bearsmas. It’s juicy, delightful Holiday fun. Have a listen. And in case you’re wondering what Mac thinks about the 7th day, here’s his submission: I think they really hit the nail on the head. What did they miss? Feel free to put your Day of Bearsmas and I’ll be sure Danny Mac gets it. Happy Holidays and… BEAR DOWN!!!
The Top Bears of the 2000′s – Bear Dawn (12/18)
Yesterday, I brought you the piece of bad Super Bowl Rankings. Now, I got hold of a new article written by some idiot who has nothing better to do. Seriously, I wonder where I get all of this bad info for y’all…. Ah, I’m just kidding. Our guy Boomer brings us his ranking of the Best Chicago Bears players within the past decade. I tried to create an argument about his rankings for argument’s sake and I couldn’t do it. I think that he did a damn good job of ranking them; now, if you don’t agree, drop a comment. Let us know who [...]
