I agree people need to be interviewed. But lets face it, when you have a coach out there like Mike Shanahan, he has more experience than Frazier. So the league forces this to happen.

Hey Matt – not sure if you’re channeling Jimmy the Greek or Reggie White, but I appreciate the feedback either way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Maybe this touched a nerve for me because it’s former Bear Leslie Frazier who seems to be getting used in this situation and it certainly popped up on my radar more so because it involves a potential OC candidate for the Bears.

I don’t intend to solve equal opportunity or racial equality questions on this site. Just wondering which is a bigger joke – the rule or how the Seahawks abide by it.

The Rooney Rule, and other race laws are what’s racist. There would be no racism in this country if everyone would just move on.

Blacks rule the NBA and NFL. The best explanation ESPN can come up with is in Jalen Rose’s comment, “sports like golf are taking all the good, White athletes.” Give me a break. Black athletes are more suited to play the game, and so far, whites have been better coaches and executives. I happen to thik Singletary is one of the top coaches in the NFL, IMHO.

How come the Chinese aren’t complaining there aren’t any Chinese coaches? Or so on and so forth, down the list of different races and cultures in our world? Because those races aren’t racist.

I’m glad the Hawks made a mockery of this rule. It’s rediculous. “Minorities” fight for equality, and having a rule that holds their hands, and gives them extra chances isn’t being equal at all.

Since there is no Rooney Rule when it comes to players, why is there one for coaching positions? In fact, why is there a Rooney Rule at all? It should be up to the team to decide who they want for their next coach. It should be based on qualifications, not a person’s ethnicity. There are plenty of players that want to play in the NFL, that the race of the coaches is the least of their concern. If there are players who don’t want to play for a coach who looks like them, then perhaps they should chose another profession that pays thems just as well. As I thought.

Kevin, sorry, the team not really playing by the Rooney Rule doesn’t matter to me. I’m just as pissed as when it’s the Redskins or any other NFL organization. Don’t generalize.

All is fair in love and war. Lower the Boooom? That’s just silly. The Redskins and everbody else do similar things. But, there’s only an outcry it seems when it’s the Seahawks or somebody other than the established teams that have a history of succsess in the league. The Rooney rule is good and good for the game. John take a timeout. Let’s hope that the Seahawks got the right man to bring them out of Loserville. Go Hawks!!!

Who gives a rat’s a**. This Rooney role is reverse discrimination. I so sick of hearing from you whiners. There are way more blacks in the NFL than white. I want to see a “Must Tryout White Players Rule”.
