Hey Boomer:

What do you think about this in terms of whether the McCaskey's really reached deep or not. I think they didn't, like it's a smoke screen. (Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they got these three guys. Peppers is a big lift to the D, and weren't you saying just a week or so ago that Chester was probably the right RB to get?). Anyway, what I'm saying is the Bears saved themselves $10M a year by not firing Lovie, they don't have to pay out any signing bonuses to any 1st or 2nd round drafts, and they've been under the salary cap the last couple years. Seems to me like they've broken even. But, my question for you is: is there anybody left that you think they should be going after?

Great comments guys. Say what you will, but this is unprecedented.

I agree that the Bears could have made a run at a safety or a wide receiver, but the Peppers signing alone makes today a great day. His sack numbers are through the roof compared to any Bears in the same span.

Before we start making Super Bowl plans, check out my post showing some other notable big names in Bears Free Agent history. Click the link to FIRE LOVIE SMITH.

I'm not sure I'm completely thrilled with these signings. I love the names, but I feel there where some bigger needs the Bears could have looked to. I feel like it was more of a cover up in case the Bears have another bad season, they could just say 'Well we tried, look at all the money we spent.'

As a long time Bear Fan I'm absolutely in shock. It's unheard of to sign one or two free agent's during the offseason but three in one day that's very unbearlike. This is a Great Day in Chi Town!
