Heya Boomer:

I agree with you; I don't believe I would have kept Cedric; in fact, I would have TRADED him instead of letting TJ walk out the door.

But the next question we should look at is: how many of these productive players were let go without a trade? In other words, how many times did we get nothing in exhange. I think that's where you can look at Bears Mgmt and see "total business failure".

I agree with that. I think the ones that really hurt were Robinson & Parrish. Losing those guys left huge roster gaps for the Bears during the '90s.

I just wish one of the mediocre players we pick up turns into a pleasant surprise... especially on the O-line or safety!

Justin Gage
Brandon McGowen

As far as your list goes City, at the time, did you want the Bears to keep Benson? If the Bears had kept him, do you think he would have performed like he did in Cinci last season? He needed to be staring a McDonalds application in the face to finally get it.

In all fairness - and believe me I couldn't agree more that the Bears have let productive guys go - Columbo suffered a devastating knee injury and the Bears just couldn't wait for him any more. Also, Berrian is GROSSLY overpaid and frankly, he ain't all that in Minnesota (Sidney Rice much?) and Tank painted the Bears into a corner forcing his release.

I'll bet you he has a stellar season, and I hope he does! Stupid Bears! They should start an alumni club: Former Bears who've had great careers once they left the Bears. Let's see, there's:

1) Chris Harris
2) Thomas Jones
3) Cedric Benson
4) Mike Brown (had a full season with KC last year, didnt' he?)

Whom I missing?
