Here's the big picture....The O line needs to actually show up to play this year....with O. Pace gone they might actually protect somebody or open a hole. One big question mark is Olen Kreutz, he's getting older and the run game is getting worse.

The Receivers need to improve both their route running and their improvisation after plays break down.

Forte needs a hole to hit true, but he also needs to wake up out there and make somebody miss for once.

Mark Anderson needs to bulk up and show up.

Cutler needs to wipe that smirk off his face, knock the chip off his shoulder and friggen play football. He can't through picks on check downs..... come on, your a pro.

Ultimately the teams lack of success in recent years falls on the shoulders of the front office. Year after year our top draft picks are released, traded or never show up. Grossman, Benson, Colombo, Mark Bradley, Vasher, the list goes on and on remeber David Terrell and Cade McNown? We're lucky to be 8-8 after a decade of terrible front office moves.

It would be nice to see the team stick with coaches and coordinators for longer than 4 years so players could reach their full potential. What if Cutler plays like last year will it be Martz fault? The O-line's? Perhaps. Or maybe its the front office's fault for not solidifying the O-line or upgrading the receivers and for bringing in a new offensive coordinator with the same puzzle pieces.

My only worry is someone getting hurt. If we can stay healthy just stop and think about it. Peppers , Harris, Urlacher, Briggs coming at you if just the 4 can stay healthy We will be Dallas bound oh and we need to keep Cutler alive

The bears have made a few good choices and a few bad choices. Losing Alex Brown was one of the. Trading a #2 pick for Gains Adam was unfortunate. Counting on a #3 pick Wright, may not be right. Not obtaining a veteran OLG to assist in the development of Chris Williams and providing protection for Cutler is a big mistake. There must be something I do not know about Beekman. I think Tayor will not be as good without Minnasotas OL. They overpaid and now can not afford an OLG??? If they do n ot have a good year blame it on budget restriction that did not make sense. When you have a few poor years and have the revenue the bears have , sometimes you need to spend a little of your profits to keep the fans interested. There is no salary Cap this year.
Finally the bears have a tough schedule. 8-8 would be a good year, but not enough to compete in their division, where Green Bay and the Viking will be winners. Many things will need to break the bears way, and poor things happen to their competition. Odds are against such a senerio.

Replace Tice and Martz with Marinelli and it's the same line we were fed last year.

But it does explain why no one gives up on the Cubs and the nickname "Second City".

James - stick to teaching philosophy! You say there is no critical thinking and want to analyze potential improvement using facts. What facts are you using exactly? Is it a "fact" that Urlacher will be better this season? Can you even state a "fact" that Jennings will be any more than a special teams contributor? Is it a fact that Jay Cutler and his young receivers will be better? That all sounds like conjecture to me.

If you're banking on improvement at the LG position based on a competition between a couple of guys who couldn't crack the 53-man roster last season, your philosophy is messed up.

I don't live in Chicago, family moved when I was very young so excuse me if this sounds weird...

The only way to protest ownership/management is to boycott games. As long as you boys pony up huge bucks for cold seats and ridiculous parking, the Mc Caskey family has no urgency... their equity stake alone is enough incentive.

If all the Bear faithful decided to patronize local establishments televising the game, your MONEY helps the people who need it and sends a message to those who take your loyalty for granted.

As in our current political environment, Money is turning on humanity. Money has only one goal, MORE. Our only weapon against Money is our money. Patronize the mom and pops, not the multi nationals when you can. That includes the Bears.

Imagine if Soldier field was half empty in October and NO ONE bought new colored jersey's for it because the city finally figured out the scam about retro jerseys. That sends a message. As long as you boys line up like sheeps to slaughter and waste your money on an overvalued product that ownership doesn't care about, they win.

That's what makes public financing a private venue (stadium) so obtuse. Wake up sheeple.
