The Bears wrapped up Rookie Minicamp and the biggest news that came out of it was offensive coordinator Mike Martz and his frank comments.  Among them was that the Bears need to get a veteran QB to back up Jay Cutler: “It would always help, that’s for sure,” Martz said when asked if he would prefer a quarterback he has worked with before. “It doesn’t have to be. For any fans who thought the Bears might totally re-shape their defensive backfield by bringing in free safety Darren Sharper, you can forget it.  Sharper just re-signed with the New Orleans Saints.  Here’s what Saints GM Mickey Loomis had to say: “We have said since the end of the season that we would love to have Darren back in a Saints uniform for 2010 and I’m glad we’ve been able to make that happen,” G.M. In the worst kept secret in sports since Mark McGuire’s steroid use, the Bears brought in Jerry Angelo’s buddy Tim Ruskell as their new Director of Player Personnel.  But why was he available?  Because he couldn’t meet Seahawks ownership’s “exacting standards.”  Check out what Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke had to say about their decision on Ruskell: “This is a tough business,” Leiweke said. “Ownership has exacting standards, not just for Tim but everybody else in this organization.
