Bears Embrace Monsters of the Midway Theme

AUTHOR: | IN: Training Camp 2010 | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

When Lovie Smith held his pre-training camp presser, he told us what the Bears would talk about a lot: The defense will become aggressive and force turnovers despite the continued uncertainty regarding Tommie Harris and the total lack of continuity in a secondary in which the Bears have started 40 different safety tandems during Smith’s tenure because, as he said, “We’re Chicago Bears. We have to play good defense. We’re going to talk a lot about the Monsters of the Midway, getting guys to that brand of football, being a tough physical group.” I guess the Monsters of the Midway [...]

Bears Get Out in the Community en route to Training Camp

AUTHOR: | IN: Training Camp 2010 | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Bears did some last minute PR work on their way to Bourbonnais.  Check out this clip of some big name stars including Brian Urlacher, Jay Cutler, Greg Olsen and Matt Forte crashing a youth league football practice: It’s quite a difference from a year ago when Urlacher and Cutler were embroiled in Pussygate 2009.  Seeing the expression on the kids’ faces is priceless! Another PR stunt after the jump.

Create a Caption: Bears Begin to Arrive in Bourbonnais

AUTHOR: | IN: Training Camp 2010 | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

The Bears have started to make their way down to open Training Camp 2010 in Bourbonnais and of course the media are buzzing around them like flies at a picnic.  An absolute must of the camp arrivals are the photos of guys bringing their stuff down to camp.  The first of those pictures have started popping up.  This one courtesy of the Chicago Tribune: I have but one question for Garza – how many fucking rolls of toilet paper do you need???  You’re down there for like 3 weeks!!!  By my rough estimate, that’s 48 rolls of Charmin. I gave [...]

Which division is the NFL’s toughest? NFC North vs AFC West

AUTHOR: | IN: NFC North | COMMENTS: None Yet

The FanSided NFL Divisional Smackdown final matchup is set and it’s our own NFC North taking on the AFC West for ultimate NFL supremacy and bragging rights. I’m actually shocked that the AFC West slid past the AFC East to represent the AFC against the NFC’s finest.  Their team can’t even compare to the NFC North. Phillip Rivers or Aaron Rodgers?  Adrian Peterson or Jamaal Charles?  Jared Allen and Julius Peppers as booked DE’s with Kevin Williams and Ndamukong Suh up the middle. Urlacher, Briggs and Matthews as your linebackers.  It should be no contest.  For a complete matchup of [...]

Urlacher Thinks Bears are Headed to Super Bowl

AUTHOR: | IN: Bears | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Chicago Tribune’s Vaughn McClure had a little chat with Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher as he and his teammates prepare to officially kick off training camp.  Urlacher touched on a wide variety of topics, but a couple of his quotes jumped off the screen: On the favorites to get to the Super Bowl: “I’ve got to say us. In the AFC, you have to go with the Colts. I know the Saints are going to be tough again. Our division is the toughest in the league. The AFC East is tough, I know that. And we play those teams [...]

Madden ’11 Rates the Chicago Bears

AUTHOR: | IN: Gaming | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

It is almost time for the second Christmas Eve in my world and that is the night before Madden ’11 is released!!!  Now, I don’t go and wait in lines at midnight and take the whole next day off to play the game.  I do have a day job.  However, on my way home from work on August 14, I will make a stop to pick up the latest installment of the greatest video game franchise of ALL TIME!!! So, how do the Bears rate???  In a word…SHITTY!!!  I guess the Bears will have some work to do to improve [...]

Divisional Smackdown Round 2: NFC North vs East, AFC East vs West

AUTHOR: | IN: NFC North, Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

The FanSided Divisional Smackdown is headed to the Semi-Finals pitting the NFC North vs the NFC East and the AFC East vs the AFC West. In the NFC matchup, the NFC North appears to have a clear advantage on offense, with Aaron Rodgers and Adrian Peterson headlining over Tony Romo and Felix Jones.  I still challenge another division to come up with a more formidable pair of defensive ends than Julius Peppers and Jared Allen. On the AFC side, it’s tough to beat the skill position players that the AFC East puts out there with Tom Brady and Ronnie Brown [...]

Fearing for His Life, Glenn Beck Apologizes to Brian Urlacher

AUTHOR: | IN: Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Glenn Beck put his foot in his mouth and now, fearing for his life, he’s issued an apology.  Beck caused a stir by referring to Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher as a ne0-Nazi.  Realizing that Urlacher eats pieces of shit like him for breakfast (Urlacher eats pieces of shit for breakfast???), Beck issued the following apology: “During a segment about myself being named one of the ‘blackest white folks we know’ by the website theroot.com, I made a few comments about some others on the list,” Beck wrote. “Now, I know absolutely nothing about sports, so I didn’t realize that [...]
