There is no more poignant example of our Bears ineptitude than Mr Daniel Manning, so I'm glad to see the team inheriting a moniker that was originally earned.

Manning is supposedly our best athlete and on a team with Knox and Hester, our fatest player. Yet the "coaching" staff hasn't developed him in any way, at any position and is haunted by the glaring fact that Mannings only contribution (Special Teams) requires no play called, just instinct and athleticism.

He came in as a corner and with such a dearth of talent at that position and an aging Tillman, how is it that 5 years in we still don't know if Daniel could play that position? The safety experiment was never given enough time to develop, now he's being painted as a nickel corner? Will he be developed there?

Bear management annointed and paid Vasher, the beneficiary of one years pass rush that has ceased to exist since Rivera left town. Peanut has left it on the field, including his intelligence at critical times. One can only hope that Bowman develops himself. Maybe we should allow Manning to develop himself. He seems at home without coaching as the kick off falls from the sky and he returns on pure instinct.

Don Banks just released his Power Rankings. I'm not a believer in pre season prophets myself, purely entertainment. Don has us ranked 26th. If you gave the Bears the benefit of any doubt, a plus/minus of 6 spots still leaves us on the losers page.

And Lovie won't react or adjust. His buddies won't escape the paradigm of the cover 2. And the mad hatter (Martz) just may be scheming for a head coaching job.
