Bears add a QB, But Not What You’re Hoping For
Don’t get too excited Bears fans. There is no veteran QB help coming to Halas Hall. Instead, they signed Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots castoff Mike Teel. Here’s the scoop from the best in the business, the Trib’s own Brad Biggs: The Bears have agreed to terms with free agent Mike Teel on a contract, and he is expected to sign his contract on Wednesday, a league source confirmed. The Bergen Record first reported the news. They become his third team in two months as Teel was released by the Seattle Seahawks on May 21 and then claimed off [...]

NFL Films’ Steve Sabol is sitting in for SI’s Peter King and gave us a glimpse into a new NFL Network special, The Top 100: The NFL’s Greatest Players. Sounds a little bit like one of those VH1 I Love the 80′s specials, huh? In the most recent Monday Morning Quarterback, Sabol named his personal list of “greatest ever” players and counted three Chicago Bears among them. Here’s the setup to the piece from SI.com: One question I’m asked more than any other is: Who is the greatest player in NFL history? I can’t answer it. It’s like asking me [...]
I’ve been very critical of the Bears and their lack of depth at the cornerback position. Once you get past Zack Bowman and Peanut Tillman, there’s not much there. Corey Graham is inconsistent at best and besides him, you’ve got a couple of midgets in DJ Moore and Tim Jennings and rookie Joshua Moore. ProFootball Weekly hears whispers that undrafted 2nd year man Woodny Turenne, who spent last season on the practice squad could be gaining momentum as the third cornerback. The feeling among many hangers-on at Halas Hall is that CB Woodny Turenne, who spent most of last season [...]
The mercury is in the 90′s, training camps haven’t even opened, you-know-who is still in the midst of his own “Indecision” and yet the Bears already caught their first break of the season. Packers DE Johnny Jolly was suspended for the season for violating the NFL’s substance policy. If the name Johnny Jolly doesn’t jump out at you, I’m sure if does for Jay Cutler after this play on opening night last season: Sorry for the crappy video; for a better clip, go to NFL.com’s version here. Not sure how big of an impact this really has on the Packers, [...]
