Bears Place Unga on Injured Reserve

In a stunning turn of events, the Bears placed supplemental draft pick, running back Harvey Unga on Injured Reserve, ending his season before it ever started.  Who would have ever thought that he would end up on injured reserve?  Me, that’s who!

"Drafting Unga puts Garret Wolfe of really shaky ground with the Bears and pretty much spells the end of the Kahlil Bell era unless Unga comes up with a mysterious injury late in camp and was to go on IR.  Not that I would possibly suggest that the Bears would do that sort of thing.  NAH!  Never!"

That, kids, is why I get paid the big blogger bucks.  Pay attention, you just might learn something.

Is it just me or is this a common occurrence with the Bears, maybe even more than usual?  I know for sure that Henry Melton came down with an injury that kept him out for the season and a few years ago Dusty Dvoracek sat out the season.

The move might give Garrett Wolfe a stay of execution, but he’s still got some stiff competition with Kahlil Bell for the third running back spot.  There’s something to watch in the second half on Saturday night, as the Bears open their preseason schedule against the Chargers in San Diego.
