Gotta be the defense. While the offense has given cause for concern there remains a big upside. At the end of the day the offense is young players learning and new and complex system. At least there is, hopefully high, potential that things will improve from week to week and everyone gets more familiar and things begin to gel.

Now the defense.... Here we have an increasingly outdated scheme that has yet to counter punch now that most of the league has figured out how to beat it. The fact that anyone can still convert 3rd and whatever is a major concern as nothing has really changed and problems like these still exist.

For now I'll just cross my fingers and tell myself "it's just the preseason", and hope the Bears have been dogging it and will turn things up against Detroit.

Retreat 2.

Tampa could play it because they had hall of famers at each level.

Sapp, Brooks and Lynch.

This scheme makes our defense so vulnerable.

Cover, but retreat and close in on the play.

Really? Is that Bears football?

Retreat?

Defense concerns me most. On several occasions, we had 7 guys covering 3 receivers, yet they caught the ball with no-one within 7 yards! How in the hell does that happen?
Not that it is good, but at least Cutler can scramble (and be successful with ad-lib plays), but all a team has to do is keep throwing at us.

I think it is safe to say that both sides of the ball pretty much hear a regular sucking sound coming from the action. It is really bad when you cannot tackle, cover or have any semblance any scheme on defense and the offense fails to block, throw or run the ball...so I am saying all the above...good work kids!!!
