Cutler Tosses Historic Interceptions to Hall

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Notes | COMMENTS: None Yet

Jay Cutler was a part of history at Soldier Field on Sunday, but it was a dubious distinction.  He threw 4 interceptions.  That’s not the historic part, that’s an average day at the office.  The historic part?  They were all thrown to DeAngelo Hall.  Check em out: Wanna know the best part?  Cutler would go after Hall again.  No, I’m not kidding.  I saw the press conference.  Here is an exchange of Hall talking about the picks and Cutler saying he’d go at him again.

Challenging Day for Lovie and Bears

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Notes | COMMENTS: None Yet

When you lose a game by three points, there is plenty of room for second-guessing, Monday Morning Quarterbacking, etc. The latest Bears loss, a 17-14 defeat at the hands of the Redskins is no exception.  So let’s replay one critical sequence and see what went wrong. The Situation – Bears up 14-10 with about 12 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.  Earl Bennett catches a seam route from just inside of midfield and takes it down to the 1 yard line.  Check out the highlight here. The Blunder, Part I – Lovie Smith challenges that Earl Bennett had scored on [...]

Bears Scalped by Redskins 17-14

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Notes | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Bears are full of surprises this season; some good, some bad.  Lately, they’ve been mostly bad.  The unexpected wins in Dallas and against Green Bay have been negated by miserable back-t0-back home losses to Seattle and Washington.  The Bears head into their BYE week with a 4-3 record and heading the wrong direction.  Check out NFL.com’s breakdown here.  I use the words highlights loosely. I will preface my instant analysis with the fact that I could only half watch the 2nd half because I was watching my 20-month old while Mrs. Beargoggleson was at a wedding shower.  I think [...]

Handicapping NFL WEEK 7: Picks of the Week

AUTHOR: | IN: Top Plays | COMMENTS: None Yet

After some weeks, it is nice to sit back and look at the bigger picture of your “betting” overall outcomes.  If you were  regular bettor in Vegas, this would be imperative to  do.  Last year when I was in Vegas, I was like a kid in a candy shop and practically bet on not only every game, but almost every over/under as well.  That’s okay for a one week blast (especially after being up $1200 for a blackjack table), but not if you want to be a grinder.  If I lived in Vegas, I’d be a grinder.  My ultimate goal would [...]

Bears vs Redskins – Week 7 Madden Simulation Prediction

AUTHOR: | IN: Madden Simulations | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Our guy Sam coulda told you the Bears would lose last week.  He rubbed his Madden 11 crystal ball and it was right there for him.  Believe me, I’m not happy about it, but when you get an upset special right, you’ve got to brag a little.  On to the Week 7 matchup with the Redskins. Donovan McNabb makes yet another trip to Soldier Field, but this time he leads the Washington Redskins.  The game starts off slowly, with only two Robbie Gould field goals in the first half to account for the Bears scoring.  Ryan Torrain’s 10 yard run [...]

The DeCon’s Replacement: Week 7 Fantasy Football Picks

AUTHOR: | IN: fantasy football | COMMENTS: None Yet

Editor’s note: Since our guy The DeCon is wandering the desert for 40 days and 40 nights, his buddy Hunter is filling in.  I’m posting on his behalf. So I’ll try and fill the shoes of the DeCon this week and, Man, those are big shoes to fill. As most of you know, it doesn’t help to tell you to play your studs where I subscribe to the philosophy you start no matter what the matchup unless there is a real health concern. But I will tell you, don’t play any Jets, Colts, Lions or Texans this week. Since the [...]
