The supposed experts at the Eastern Seaboard Programming Network have made their conference championship picks.  Shockingly, they don’t really like the Bears.  To be perfectly honest, I’m actually shocked that three of the bobble heads picked Chicago. Sunday is right around the corner.  What, you haven’t heard what’s going on Sunday?  You’re not counting down the moments to BEARMAGEDDON?  It’s the Legendary matchup between the Bears and Packers for the NFC Championship and the right to go to the Super Bowl! Sunday’s NFC Championship marks just the second time in the storied Bears-Packers rivalry that the teams face off in the postseason.   The last time they met up was just a week after the attack on Pearl Harbor.  The Bears were victorious, securing a 33-19 win and a trip to the NFL Championship against the New York Giants. This is one of the most memorable game in the Bears-Packers rivalry, and not for a good reason if you’re a Bears fan. Before there was Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre, there was Don Majkowski.  On November 5, 1989 with the Bears up 13-7 late in the 4th quarter and the Packers down to a 4th and goal from the 14 yard line, Don Majkowski fired a pass to Sterling Sharpe for an apparent touchdown.  Referees on the field threw a penalty flag for an illegal forward pass for throwing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage.  In the first [...]

Everyone is talking about how great Aaron Rodgers has been throughout the playoffs, but the Bears have one advantage that other teams don’t, Soldier Field.  Rodgers has played three games on the lakefront but hasn’t been as dominate as he has shown he can be elsewhere.  He has lost two of those games while throwing only 3 TDs and 2 INTs.  He has also lost 1 fumble.  And to make matters worse for Mr. Rodgers, it’s going to a sloppy field with freezing conditions at Soldier Field this Sunday.  He better not forget to bring his sweater.
