Editor’s note: This was originally posted on July 21st after the NFL officially cancelled the Hall of Fame Game.  Now that HOF weekend is upon us, I thought I’d re-publish.

The NFL has officially cancelled the Hall of Fame Game scheduled for August 7th in Canton between the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams.  Hallelujah!  I hate to see any games missed, but with such a short timeline to prepare, it just makes the most sense.

It’s a shame that there won’t be a game to help cap an exciting weekend in which former Bear Richard Dent and former Ram Marshall Faulk will be inducted.  Fear not!  There are still plenty of things to do on Hall of Fame weekend to help fans visiting Canton that weekend.

1986 NFC Championship Legends Game

How about a Legends game to re-live one of the coolest games in Chicago Bears history, the 1986 NFC Championship game.  I think Jimmy Mac is out of the hospital (after his limo crashed earlier this week) and Fridge has been feeling better lately.  You know Ditka is always game for a chance to play.  Do you think the Rams can get Eric Dickerson to suit up?
