I'm fine with the Bears giving Enderle more practice reps in order to build him up as a player, but their primary backup at this point has GOT TO BE Hanie. Enderle showed some skills, sure, but he also made a lot of rookie mistakes; he had trouble maneuvering to avoid pressure, and he didn't have the best judgment when making throws. Having him and Hanie share reps while practicing? Fine and dandy. Send Enderle in as a second-stringer? Better Grossman than him, really. Maybe once he's got a season or two of coaching and experience under his belt.

Every day I wake up hoping to read Boomer reporting the signing of any o line help.

Today, I read about a 225 DE who failed in Buffalo, a team that devastated our line just 3 days ago.

Now Boom makes me aware that Caleb Hanie, a very solid kid with upside, is being replaced with a raw rookie that I had never heard of out of college. Hanie played the Champinship game with moxy and strength and I was set on him backing Jay up... I think he can develop into a #1 once Jay gets injured this season.

But the strength of a pre season game trumps the championship game and another talent won't be developed. This is contagious for our Bears.

And Martz is pulling all the levers with an offense that may not see a third year.

I'm going back to bed.
