One other thing Boom that you might be able to explain. Why did we sign a punter to 10 million? Now he’s being pushed by a minimum wage guy in camp? Couldn’t that 2 million annually have gone to Daniel manning? Or use it to pay Kruetz? I don’t get it. And to leave so much cap space on the table with such glaring inadequacies is troubling.

ANd was Brad Maynard really our problem last year? Why do we address certain positions and not others? If we could protect our qb, wouldn’t that take a lot of work away from our punter?

On the flipside, how do you hide the deficiencies on defense without Urlacher roaming sideline to sideline and down the deep middle or Peppers applying pressure? Lovie’s defense is so shaky without those two and the alternatives to either are virtually non-existent.

Boomers larger point though may be how thin and vulnerable we are. Tillman, Urlacher and Peppers are essential and we all know peanuts is going to get hurt.
