sTats?? Briggs has arguably been our best defensive player for 5 years. So many people slagged him for the last contract dispute and what did he do? Pro Bowls. Makes huge plays everywhere on a team that had no line talent until Julius showed up... including no Urlacher.

I'm not saying pay the guy.... but the obvious point is that the Bears are prone to mistakes and having Briggs on the team is not a mistake. Anything that questions this teams mismanagement and strategical hypocrisies is welcome news in my book.

Now, did we release the wasted money named Chester taylor yet or did we take him back?

Roy Williams is in town fleecing more money. I could go on and on.

Lance Briggs makes plays and has a loud mouth. And look who he's calling out. Let him get it off his chest.

@Mr.Pickles I am not one to stand by this organization. However, they do have a history of paying their own. Lance Briggs has 3 years left on his contract and he really needs to shut his mouth. Maybe him and his agent should have demanded a better deal in the first place. Forte has a reason to want a pay raise and I don't blame him at all. Pay the man and let's move on!

As far as Olin goes, I am not unhappy about the way they handled that at all. The guy wanted 4.5Million. The Bears offered him $4. He accepted what, $2 or $2.5? The Bears tried to do right by him. He can barely practice these days and in my opinion will not last more than a season or two. He has also become a low level Center in my opinion.

Again, I despise the front office decisions 99% of the time. The money they spent last year was a waste besides Peppers. Peppers was a can't miss signing and it seems Lovie should get more credit than Angelo for that one. They do not bring in the right guys at the right time and they typically overpay them. However, the one thing they do right is pay their own who have been a vital part of this organization. Alex Brown was an exception in my opinion, but Boomer just tweeted they released him, so why not bring him back for another stint in a Bears Uniform?

I love Briggs, and the Bears need him more this year than any other, but it's absurd to be unhappy with a contract that you're only half way through and that you freely negotiated as a free agent. It would be hard to argue that he's outplayed his contract and it really deserving of a raise.

Bitching and moaning aside I do also have to wonder if this is another extension of front office incompetence. Perhaps I'm a bit off base but Forte and now Briggs looking for better contracts might be indicative that the players are concerned the McCaskeys won't do right by them. Guys like Alex Brown and especially Olin Kreutz had pretty unceremonious exits, gotta wonder if there some dissension brewing.
