Bears Waive Moore to Make Room for Meriweather

While most of us were off enjoying the Labor Day holiday, the Bears made a couple of roster moves on Monday.  In order to clear space to officially sign former Patriot Brandon Meriweather, the Bears waived second year cornerback Joshua Moore.  A 2010 5th round draft pick out of Kansas State, Moore didn’t really catch on and only appeared in three games last season.

The move leaves the Bears a little thin at cornerback.  Starters Peanut Tillman and Tim Jennings are backed up by Zack Bowman and special teamer Corey Graham.  DJ Moore is still tabbed as the nickelback.

The Bears still had an open spot on their practice squad, which they filled with a former Domer.  No, folk hero Robert Hughes didn’t get picked up.  Instead, they picked up undrafted rookie Armando Allen, who was let go by the Tampa Bay Bucs.
