@flowerpowermike - I hear ya and agree. They could have done more this offseason (a la Philadelphia), but they continue to make the "we're this close" argument instead of acknowledging a favorable schedule last year that gave us games with crazy "did he hold the ball long enough" non-touchdown calls, injury plagued teams and second-hand quarterbacks.

Having said that though, the Bears added more talent than lost in this strike-affected offseason. Manning, Olsen and Kreutz vs Barber, Williams, and Carimi. Now that I write them down, I'm not so sure it isn't a wash. Barber's hurt, Williams sucks, and Carimi is a rookie. Manning was okay, but not great. Olsen just didn't fit, and Kreutz in my opinion was fading.

So, it is definitely going to be a tough year. I hope the D can continue to step up, and I hope a year of Cutler in the same offense will improve the O play.

I can dig it.

Martz has done good things with the offense, but he needs to work with the players he has and run a strategy that works well with them.

Nice read City.... The failures of this team is Ownership, Management and Coaching. We can't attract top caliber coordinators. We don't draft well. With one huge exception, we've defined the word "austere" with free agency, the players we do draft we are incapable of developing, and this scheme and coaching staff has no ability to make halftime adjustments.

Last years Division winning season prolonged the collapse with the image of success. It's not without precedence (Jauron 13-3) under this ownership.

Our field is a mess, family night was canceled after it had been attended.

Was I mad after the conference game.... not really. We had a gift from Seattle in our first playoff game and the Packers are the better team. What I was mad about was that gave Lovie and Jerry added time. The illusion of success.
