Lovie Smith's teams have proven in the past that they play best when they play pissed. If they're not in the top 5, and they feel that they are a top 5 team, then they just play better. Also, if the Slack is ahead of the Bears all season, that's another motivating factor to make them play great. BTW, along with the Slack at #1, the Kittens at 14, and the Queen at 24, there is nothing that I don't love about this power ranking list. The NFC North has put the entire NFL on notice. I would not be surprised to see this division go 30-10 against teams NOT from the division. All 4 teams are decent at worst, and two are elite at best. I also would not be surprised to see 3 teams from the North in the playoffs this season.
