I'm also scratching my head on Cutler, he made some terrible throws, but none of them were pick 6 kinds terrible, so I guess that's a good thing.

As for Lovie's ability to challenge I think he's a bit like a dog that's been hit in the head with a shovel one too many times, he's all confused and doesn't know what the hell to do. I would lay money down that Lovie has one of, if not THE, worst challenge success rate in the entire NFL since its inception. I think both the plays you mentioned would have easily been reversed. I don't know what I'm more heated over, that inexplicable spot for a first down or the fact that no one bothered to raise an eyebrow about it.

I guess I kinda hope this serves like the Giants game did last year as a rock bottom/wake-up call for everyone to get their shit together.

@City Good point with Kreutz. He certainly has enough insider info to tip off a defense on how to exploit that line all day long and it doesn't take much scouting to give an offense like the Saints an advantage. Factoring in that the current coaching regime is incapable of any sort of innovative adjustment makes this even more significant.

2) I have come to the conclusion that Mike Martz offense is no longer valid in the NFL against 3-4 teams.

It doesn't help that Martz was (once again) a pass-happy idiot who abandoned the run at the first sign of run-blitzing early in the game. Seriously, Martz is not just an idiot; he's a a*hole for putting Cutler in at the end of the game where he got sacked 2 or 3 more times instead of raising the white flag, put in Caleb and protected Cutler from any more damage.

But, here's why I have determined that it is an outdated offense that really won't work against 3-4 defenses... there is NO WAY TO CALL AN AUDIBLE. Look at Brees, and how many times he was able to adjust routes, playcalls and checkdowns based on what the defense showed. The Bears on the other hand are awfully SLOW at getting plays in; they shift every play, and that locks the play in so the defense can just be aggressive and attack, without worrying that Cutler can change things up. That is absolutely SUICIDE in today's NFL.

I thought it was going to take me through the rest of the season to determine if the Bears should stay with Martz. I think I can say with a high-level of confidence, that Mike Martz's offense needs to go and the longer we stay with him (and it), the more likely Cutler will be injured.
