Kellen Davis, Henry Melton and Marion Barber. Check, check and check.

Devin Hester and Mike Martz, not so much.

If either of the latter had stepped up (and I'm thinking mostly Martz), the Bears would have won that game.

Thanks Mike. I'm thankful for great readers who are active on the site. Guys like you help make this work.

I didn't single out the offensive line because it was such an obvious choice. It goes without saying that they need to play at a high level. I think they did just that on Sunday against the Raiders.@flowermike

First off, I'd like to express thanks to both Boom and Deez for such entertaining topics and writing. Nobody at dinner thursday understood my thanking Beargoggleson, but you all should.

Second, the most important 5 bears for the rest of this season are on our makeshift offensive line. Boom missed the obvious, so I'll mention it. The games we have ahead are all quite winnable except for GB ( I loathe to type that), but Hanie needs time and some holes opened for the backs to keep the ball and clock churning. We can win ugly and often do, so it's not an unfamiliar situation if any of you can remember Ron Turner or John Shoop.

Wish I was joking.
