Combine Preview: Michael Floyd Highlights

The Chicago Bears are in the market for a wide receiver and one of the top targets in the 2012 draft class is Notre Dame’s Michael Floyd.  Check out this highlight reel:

Standing 6’3″ and weighing 224, the former Domer offers the big target wide receiver that the Bears covet.  Two big questions hang over his head as he readies himself for the combine

1. Does he have NFL speed? 

Floyd is a big boy but he won’t be going up against Navy and Mother Mary’s School of the Blind every Sunday.  In the NFL even linebackers and D-linemen can run, so he’s got to have 4.4 speed to be the big play threat the Bears really need.

2. Character questions

Floyd has already had a couple of run-ins with the law including a drunk driving citation that got him suspended from the team for a while at ND.  The Bears claim to be big on character, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can look beyond Floyd’s checkered past to make him their first round selection.
