Rivals Update-BEARly Worth Mentioning

When Nick Fairley was drafted by the Detroit Lions out of Auburn University he was supposed to be part of one of the greatest defensive tackle combos in the modern era along side Ndamukong  Suh.  A strange thing happened on the way to total domination!  Entering his second season with the Lions, Fairley now has recorded twice as many arrests – 2- (April 2012 Marijuana arrest and a May 2012 DUI arrest) as sacks (1 vs New Orleans Saints)

Yesterday, after more than a month after his latest arrest, Fairley decided to issue an apology via his Facebook account.  He apologized to the fans, and the Detroit organization for his transgressions and stated he was cooperating with authorities.  Nick,  Facebook is for people to feel good about themselves when they look at their college roommate pictures of them gaining 40LBS in 10 years, not to be issuing your formal apology to the fans for thinking you’re bigger than the law. Granted, he was probably just trying to dodge a suspension with the apology, but you shouldn’t hide behind social media when there are major concerns growing about your character, while at OTA’s hold a press conference, face the press, and answer questions.

Anyways, hopefully his 2 to 1 arrest to sack ratio will continue for the rest of his Lions career, especially when facing Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears, and hopefully he becomes just another footnote in the list of busts in Detroit Lions history!

DA BEARS!!
