Hardin Placed on Injured Reserve

Brandon Hardin’s  season came to a quick end when he was placed on Injured Reserve  today.  Hardin, the Bears 3rd round draft pick out of Oregon St, was injured last weekend in the Washington Redskin game with a neck injury that required him to be carted off the field.  He was at Halas Hall this past week in a neck brace, but the Bears, hoping for a complete recovery, will not be allowing him to play in 2012 by placing him on injured reserve.  This was by far the most significant roster move by the Bears on Saturday.  Hardin’s injury will mean that the Bears will be searching for another safety via free agency this weekend. The Bears seemed to have high hopes for the rookie safety hopefully he has a full recovery!

The Bears did inform a few players today that they will be waived ( List provided by Tribune’s Brad Briggs) None of these moves have been officially announced by the Bears.

Here’s the list of waived players

– Wide Receiver Chris Summers

-Safety Trevor Coston

– Defensive End Derek Walker

-Defensive End Thaddeus Gibson

– Offensive lineman Nick Peischel is injured and will not make the final cuts

The Bears have to get the roster cut down to 75 players by 3pm Monday afternoon so there will be 12 more Bears getting pink slips within the next two days.
