Another week, another paperweight for Chicago Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman, who was awarded this week’s NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award after almost single-handedly shutting down the Detroit Lions’ top wide receiver Calvin Johnson.  Johnson was limited to 3 catches for just 34 yards as Tillman blanketed Johnson most of the night.

It’s the second straight award for Tillman, who won the award following the Bears’ last game on October 7 vs the Jaguars.  Tillman shined in that game with his second consecutive game with a pick-6.

This already adds to the Bears trophy case, with fellow cornerback Tim Jennings winning September’s NFC Defensive Player of the Month Award.

With the honors piling up, Tillman is an early favorite to earn a trip to his second Pro Bowl in as many seasons.  You can help him by voting for the Pro Bowl here.  Vote early, vote often – it’s the Chicago way!!!
