The Lions started cutting the fat off the roster yesterday with the release of Titus Young aka “I’m better than Megatron”.

Today, the Lions cut veteran defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch and guard Stephen Peterman. Vanden Bosch, who has an endless motor, was pretty productive in his Lions 3 year stop collecting 15.5 sacks in 43 games, Vanden Bosch started all 16 games this past season.  Age is probably the reason for both of their releases with Vanden Bosch turning 34 and Peterman, who started all 16 games last season as well, is 31.

The Lions look to be cutting ties and making salary cap room this week while getting rid of one of their many bad apples in Titus Young.  The Lions had to be one of the biggest disappointments of the 2012 season so a roster overhaul had to be in order.
