According to Brad Biggs, linebacker Nick Roach as signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Nick Roach was the Bears starting outside linebacker opposite of Lance Briggs. When Brian Urlacher was injured, Roach stepped in and played middle linebacker at the end of last season.

With Brian Urlacher a free agent and Nick Roach signing with the Raiders, the Bears have needs at both starting middle and outside linebacker. The question is, do the Bears think that they already have replacements on the team?

Currently listed on the Chicago Bears roster the Bears have seven linebackers:

Lance Briggs, Blake Costanzo, Dom DeCicco, Jerry Franklin, J.T. Thomas, Patrick Trahan and Lawrence Wilson.

At first glance I would say that the Bears still have a need to replace Roach and Urlacher. Blake Costanzo is a special teams standout. The other linebackers, to be honest, I don’t know anything about them. Maybe one of them is a diamond in the rough. What do you think Bears Fans? Do you think anybody that is still on the roster can replace Urlacher or Roach?

It seems to me that Phil Emery has a plan, and so far he has made us as Chicago Bears fans happy. Let us wait and see what his next move will be. Don’t forget, there is still the draft.
