Countdown to Kickoff… 87 Days Until Chicago Bears Kickoff

I decided to do a countdown to the Chicago Bears season opener on September 8th versus the Cincinnati Bengals.  Thanks to one of my followers on Twitter @Beneiserle, I decided to combine the countdown with a roster preview of sorts.

We’re Steve Maneri days away from the start of the Chicago Bears season.  Who is Steve Maneri?  Well for one thing, he’s not Kellen Davis.  (Please hold your applause until the end of the post.)  The Bears signed the tight end out from the Kansas City Chiefs to play the role that Matt Spaeth was holding down, to be mostly a blocking tight end.   Nothing too sexy there, but he should be serviceable.

There are a lot of historical 87’s to list including the aforementioned Kellen Davis, Muhsin Muhammad, D’Wayne Bates, Ricky Proehl, fan favorite Tom Waddle and Emery Moorehead.  But the 87 I’d like to spotlight is legendary defensive end Ed O’Bradovich.
