Countdown to Kickoff… Major Wright Days Until Chicago Bears Season Opener

We decided to do a countdown to the Chicago Bears season opener on September 8th versus the Cincinnati Bengals.  Thanks to one of our Twitter followers, we decided to combine the countdown with a roster preview of sorts.

We’re 21 Days until the start of real Chicago Bears football.  Can you believe that we’ll be watching the Bears vs Bengals in just three short weeks?  Let’s get to know #21 on your 2013 Chicago Bears,  Major Wright.

Major Wright was selected in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft with the 75th pick overall. He was selected in the seemingly endless string of safeties that Jerry Angelo picked to stabilize the back end of Lovie Smith’s defense. Wright appears to be the real deal.

Speaking of deals, Wright is in the last year of his rookie contact and will be looking to cash in in 2013. I expect big things for Wright in Mel Tucker’s adaptation of the Cover-2 defense.
