Lions WR Burleson breaks arm saving pizzas (not a joke)

facebooktwitterreddit

This is classic Lions. #2 WR Nate Burleson broke his arm late Monday night in a one-car accident. Apparently he had pizzas on the passenger seat of his car and when he saw them sliding off the seat he reached down to grab them and lost control of his car. Burleson’s car crashed into a median and he broke his arm in two places. Anyone that has had Detroit pizza knows he should of just let it go.

Anyway, 2nd year WR Ryan Broyles will probably take over for Burleson in week 4 against the Bears. Broyles has been slow in recovering from off-season knee surgery, but showed flashes of talent late in 2012 with a 6 catch, 126 yard game in week 16. If Broyles isn’t physically ready to play, I expect the Lions to bring in a free agent or make a trade as they don’t have any reliable options after Broyles.

This is bad news for the Lions as Burleson was off to a great start this year and was leading the Lions in catches (19) and was second in receiving yards (239). Obviously any bad news for the Lions this week is good news for the Bears.
