Just Tackle

On the other side of the ball, the defense  was really exposed against Detroit a few weeks ago.  They gave up 27 second quarter points and the rest was history.  No one could tackle Reggie Bush as he piled up 173 yards from scrimmage.  The tackling in that game was abysmal and it can’t be repeated.  The defense has been on a downward spiral since.  Despite being without starters Lance Briggs and Shea McClellin, they need to get lined up correctly, stay assignment-sound, maintain their gap integrity but most importantly, just tackle someone.

Welcome Home

In a strange scheduling quirk of a Thursday night game and a couple of road games sandwiched around a bye, it will be a full calendar month since the Bears played a game at Soldier Field.  I don’t want to invoke the 4th Phase card, because our friend @BearsSTH has that patented, but the Bears could certainly use some home cooking.  The crowd should be fired up with a playoff atmosphere expected.  The Lions will be starting a pair of rookies on their offensive line, so some crowd noise to make it harder on them to hear any audible or calls.

What do you think?  What are your keys for a Chicago Bears victory?  Let’s hear your thoughts in the Comments.
