SPECIAL TEAMS

Devin Hester

As I said in the stock watch this week, Hester deserves a return to the Bears next season and a shot at etching his name, and his name only, at the top of the record books.  He’s done an admirable job this season as a full-time returner and has shown the burst that has made him one of the greatest returners in NFL history.

Robbie Gould

Gould has struggled lately, but remains one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history and one of the most beloved Bears in town.  There is a rich free agent class of kickers coming up this offseason, but Gould should not be among those available.

Patrick Mannelly

At 38 years old, Mannelly has begun to run into small injury problems.  However, he’s still reliable and has a great chemistry with Gould which should continue for years to come.
