The week is rolling along without the usual payoff of a game on Sunday, unless of course you count the luau in shoulder pads otherwise known as the Pro Bowl.  There are a few Bears nuggets, including another new defensive scapegoat and a possible return of a Bears staple.  Let’s hit the links…

The Bears added Reggie Herring, who spent the last few seasons coaching the Texans’ linebackers, in the same capacity here.  Yes, the Texans ran a 3-4.  I’m starting to connect some dots here.

The Bears are split up for the Pro Bowl.  Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte are on Team Rice, while late additions Tim Jennings and Kyle Long landed on Team Sanders.  Check out the full rosters here, but don’t miss Brandon Marshall talking smack to Prime Time.

Speaking of talking smack, you cannot miss Richard Sherman mic’d up last week in the NFC Championship game.  It’s as if they knew.

The Bears could be welcoming back an old staple. No, it’s not the Honey Bears, it’s long snapper Patrick Mannelly. It’s not a done deal yet, but the ball is in his court, or between his legs.

Meanwhile, the Senior Bowl practices continued.  Adam Hoge had his 10 Takeaways, here’s Bleacher Report’s view and here are some takeaways from NFL.com.
