Charles Tillman will test free agency

According to Mike Coppinger from NFL.com, Charles Tillman will test free agency before deciding if he will return to the Bears. I hear that the Bears are open to Tillman returning but not for the salary he is currently looking for. Tillman has been a Bear for 11 years and it would be sad to see Peanut in another Jersey. In Tillman’s Bears career he made two Pro Bowls (2011, 2012), intercepted 36 passes and forced 42 fumbles with his infamous punch move.

There are rumors that new Bucs coach, Lovie Smith, is putting the hard sell on Tillman to join him on the Bucs. Tillman had his worst season as a Bears in 2013 but he was hampered by numerous injuries before missing the last 8 games of the season with a triceps injury.

The only cornerbacks currently on the Bears roster are Tim Jennings and Isaiah Frey, so if Tillman leaves the Bears will have to re-stock the position via free agency and the draft.
