Thumbs up! Jerry Angelo’s got Game.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a new sports talk radio station in Chicago, 87.7 The Game.  The WGN spinoff is pulling out all the stops to try to carve out a niche in the crowded Chicago sports talk sector.  They’ve been poaching talent from the incumbent stations but now they’ve pulled a big coupe that’s sure to draw the attention of Bears fans.  They landed former Chicago Bears GM Jerry Angelo to a weekly spot on the Kap and Haugh Show:

"Former Bears general manager Jerry Angelo has signed an exclusive agreement to appear as lead football insider on Tribune Broadcasting sports/talk WGWG LP 87.7.Starting this week, Angelo will join midday hosts David Kaplan and David Haugh at 10:25 a.m. every Wednesday on The Game 87.7 FM.“There’s a lot of good football insiders, but there’s nobody like a former GM when it comes to having great intel on the process, the free agency and the draft,” Kaplan said. “He can provide a perspective that no one else in Chicago can match.”"

You’d better believe I’ll be tuned in to hear what Jerry thinks about the latest Bears moves including casting off some of the guys he brought to town like Julius Peppers and Devin Hester.  I just hope Haugh and Kap won’t be afraid to ask the tough questions.  First episode is today at 10:25.  Tune in by listening here.
