The road to Canton will go through Atlanta.  It will be interesting to see how Joe DeCamillis, Robbie Gould and a punter to be named later deal with the new Atlanta Falcons return specialist this coming season.  That’s because the Bears know the returner very well but have never had to face him.  Devin Hester agreed to a three year contract with the Falcons to be their return specialist and maybe a little more.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but word around the webs is that the Falcons hope to use Hester on offense a little bit.  I guess they didn’t have any tape of the Bears offense from 2008 – 2012.  More power to them if they can get things to click for Hester on the offensive side of the ball.  We’re not sure if Muhsin Muhammad is part of the package to get Hester in the right spot.

The Falcons were desperate to improve their return game.  The last special teams TD they had was ironically enough from another now-former Bear, Eric Weems.

Some people call Atlanta “the Dirty” so does that make Devin Hester “the Dirty City Flyer?”

Wishing Devin nothing but the best next season except of course when the Bears head to the Georgia Dome.
