The Bears made another smart move this week signing Jimmy Clausen to add another quarterback to the Training Camp fodder. Michael C. Wright compares Cutler’s deal to Colin Kaepernick’s new contract with no surprises. Good news with DT Nate Collins returning from his ACL tear and things were heating up during OTAs between Bennett and Houston. All good stuff happening with the Bears this week. Let us take a look at the rest of the NFC North going ons from this week.

Packers

Rob Demovsky from ESPN.com thinks that the Packers’ roster is ranked surprising low by Pro Football Focus. He also thinks that there is more to be expected from Datone Jones in his 2nd year as a Packer. Rob also feels that the Packers have a much better QB backup plan this year compared to last. He also takes a look at the Packers’ 2nd OTA session. Tom Mrozla from LombardiAve.com reports that Aaron Rodgers is optimistic about the Packers defense. What else is he going to say? Don Banks takes a look at how well the Packers find late-round, undrafted gems. Thanks for reminding us Don. We already know. Sigh…

Vikings

According to Ben Goessling of ESPN.com, Teddy Bridgewater is making all the tough throws. He also talks about how rookie Anthony Barr is doing long-distance learning due to not being able to attend OTAs. Something about finishing college. Why would he want to do that? Mike Zimmer felt that being rejected for head coaching jobs was a blessing in disquise. I think he is just being nice. He will do everything in his power to make those teams wish that they hired him instead of the Vikings. Oh, and USA Today projects that the Vikings are going to Suck This Year, according to Adam Carlson from theVikingAge.com.

Lions

Michael Rothstein from ESPN.com takes a look at Kyle Van Noy’s rookie contract. Lions receiver Ryan Broyles is excited about his return to the field. Let us see how long he lasts before he is cut or injured again. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Ziggy Ansah is behind on reps. It sucks when players have offseason surgery.
