We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

74 days from now, the Chicago Bears will be playing the Buffalo Bills on Opening Day. Jermon Bushrod is a solid veteran left tackle. He was drafted out of Towson University in 2007 t the New Orleans Saints. In New Orleans, he protected the blind side of Drew Brees and earned two consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl (2011, 2012). He also was a starter for the 2009 Super Bowl team. Unless there is an injury, I expect Bushrod to have another good season. Last year he protected Cutler and McCown quite well and there is no reason why the same shouldn’t hold true this season.

Other notable 74’s are first round draft bust Chris Williams and 9 time Pro Bowler (Once with the Bears) Ruben Brown.
