Derrick Rose May Not Want to Recruit for the Bulls, But Kyle Long Will

As the Free Agency period opens for the NBA, a lot has been made of Derrick Rose’s stance that he’s not going to recruit free agents to join him and the Chicago Bulls:

Rose told Yahoo Sports on Sunday that he doesn’t plan to recruit Anthony – or any free agent, for that matter – even though he likes Anthony’s game and thinks they can play alongside each other.

Rose’s reason is simple: He said it’s “not my job.”

“My thing is if they want to come, they can come,” Rose said.

Apparently Rose believes his job description is to wear suits on the sidelines and not play basketball, so let’s forget what he thinks his job is.

Another guard in Chicago is ready to blitz free agents and has set his sights a little higher than just getting Carmelo Anthony.  Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long had this suggestion for the Bulls:

But that wasn’t all from Long.  He made his pitch directly to Lebron:

Let’s hope Long’s pitch can make up for Rose’s ridiculous position on getting some help for the Bulls.  It sure would be nice to get a couple of championship parades going – Bears and Bulls.

I’d like to first state that Derek Rose is a phenomenal basketball player, who made the grave mistake of surrounding himself with (for lack of a better phrase) the “Keystone Cops”. I am a lifelong Chicago Bulls fan and have to agree with your assessment of Rose’s “new position”..Way to much of a “all for me guy” than a true team player. Well, he received his guaranteed contract of @ 94 million, so why should he care?? Could it be that he doesn’t want the Bulls bringing in any player that could steal the limelight from him, or better yet, pretty much force his hand to actually play and earn his money??? Just throwing that out there. Maybe he watched “Top Gun” too many times, seeing as how he quotes Tom Cruise constantly. “It not right, doesn’t feel right”.Ggoing to be pretty damn hard to return to same form after 2 major knee injuries. Personally, I feel the Bulls should either put him on “the block” and get the max for him now because I am pretty sure that he will leave via free agency if the Bulls present a contract with any performance clauses and without being fully guaranteed..I believe another guaranteed contract would be 3 steps past stupid. BTW…. HIS JOB is to do what he gets a phenomenal GUARANTEED amount of money to do. Actually play basketball for the Chicago Bulls.. Although, I must say that he sure does look spiffy in those suits. Maybe he could coach,
