Week 3 of the preseason is the dress rehearsal for the regular season. At least that is what we are always told. I always think back to 2006 when Dennis Green made his famous quote,

"The Bears are what we thought they were. They’re what we thought they were. We played them in preseason — who the hell takes a third game of the preseason like it’s bull****? Bull****! We played them in the third game — everybody played three quarters — the Bears are who we THOUGHT they were! That’s why we took the damn field! Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But they are who we THOUGHT they were! And we let ’em off the hook!"

Ahhhh… the memories. Too bad the Bears went to the Super Bowl that year and lost. Well, the Seattle Seahawks went to the Super Bowl last year and won. Not only did they win, but they convincingly won. They were arguably the best team in football last year. Well, it’s a new year and we will see who will be this years champion. Will it be the Seahawks? Maybe. But maybe it will be a certain team, from a certain Mid-western town, that starts with a “C”, ends with an “O”, and in the middle is “HICAG”. Da Bears!

Before we begin this week’s edition of Talking Smack, can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?

"Hi everybody, my name is Josh Davis and I’ve been with FanSided for 2 and 1/2 years now, mostly as the editor of All Coug’d Up (Wash. St.) and a staff writer for 12th Man Rising. Been a Cougar and Seahawks fan ever since I can remember, I was born while my dad played with Reuben Mayes at WSU in the early 80’s and when Reuben got drafted to Seattle the transition just made sense. It’s been a long haul as a fan of both, but with the Cougs once again turning it around and my Hawks FINALLY winning the ultimate prize last season (and not looking to slow down) I’m in a great spot as a fan for maybe the first time ever!!! Really looking forward to this season as we look to repeat and perhaps begin the dynasty building phase. Let’s go!"
