It’s the Bears vs Packers for the 189th time.  Yes, it’s the oldest rivalry in the NFL.  The last time these teams squared off, only the NFC North title and a playoff berth were on the line.  We all know how it turned out.

Normally, we focus on head-to-head matchups but this week, we’ll focus on some comparison matchups.

It’s a battle of rookies in the respective secondaries.  After the disastrous end to the Bears season as Chris Conte blew his assignment and let Randall Cobb run past him to score the division winning touchdown, Bears fans were up in arms to get a new safety.  When HHCD was on the board when it was the Bears turn to make a pick, you could hear the uproar from fans throughout the city when the Bears passed on the safety from Alabama to select another cornerback.  A few picks later, the Packers selected Clinton-Dix.

With Peanut Tillman out for the season and Fuller with the early season league lead in interceptions, Phil Emery seems to look like he made the right choice.  Fuller has proven to be a real gem through the first three weeks of the season.  Dare I call him the defensive MVP through three weeks?  Clinton-Dix grades out at -1.7 thru three games and has a sack and an interception to go along with three tackles while Fuller grades out as the league’s top corner with a +5.8 PFF grade.

This duo will forever be linked, but you always remember the first time.
