Jay Cutler is coming off one of his better games of the season. He compiled 330 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in a win over the Minnesota Vikings. His performance has been validated, as one of the best of week 11, by being nominated for FedEx Air player of the week.

Cutler will be up against Green Bay Packer Aaron Rodgers and Arizona Cardinal Drew Stanton. Fans now have the chance to vote for whichever player they like. The winner will be announced tomorrow afternoon. If Cutler were to win the award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to Chicago’s local chapter of the American Red Cross. So go and vote for Jay and help out the Chicago Red Cross. I’m sure you would rather have Cutler win, than Rodgers. Am I right?

Rodgers had the exact same yardage and Touchdown throws as Cutler. Cutler did, however, throw for the 2 interceptions, for which Rodgers threw none. This may very well be one of the few times where Cutler can defeat Rodgers in a competition. Cutler stands at 1-10 vs Rodgers and the Packers. If Cutler does not win Air player of Week 11, that just makes it another instance where he falls short to a division rival.

Beyond possibly defeating Aaron Rodgers, this award validates Jay Cutler’s ability to make the necessary plays to beat a tough defense. Minnesota currently ranks 8th in passing defense, even after a let down game. This nomination could come as a surprise to some fans. Cutler has been the cause for some disgust as of late. If this type of production continues, look for those disgusted fans to go into hiding for a while.
