Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears final score 41-28

The Bears continued their losing ways with yet another home loss, this time at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys. The defense couldn’t stop anyone on the Cowboys offense and gave up a ridiculous amount of points yet again. Giving the ball away this season is difficult because the Bears just aren’t playing well, and it’s hard to find a standout player on a bad football team.

The best player on the field Thursday night was Martellus Bennett. His contributions to the offense have been underrated and he has not been given the credit he is deserved. Bennett has been extremely reliable for the Bears and has made the most of every opportunity. Going up against his former team, he finished the game with 12 receptions, 84 total yards, and one touchdown. His catches late in the fourth quarter helped the offense go on a 21 to 6 point run against Dallas, but it wasn’t enough to win. Despite the Bears losses, Bennett is having a good year. Currently, he has 77 receptions, 821 yards receiving and six touchdowns. These are great numbers, especially when he has to share the field Pro Bowlers such as Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte.

The best part about Bennett’s performance was that he broke Mike Ditka’s single-season record for the most catches by a tight end in Bears history.
