With the draft out of the way and most of the big name free-agents signed, there are still some serviceable players who could come at a major discount with a potentially large return. The likelihood of finding a huge pro bowl, impact player are few and far between.

However, this is where you could take a chance on a young talent or potentially resurrect a player’s career and prove your competition wrong. Here are a few players that, in my humble opinion, could make a potential impact beyond their financial cost in 2015 for the Chicago Bears:

Quintin Demps – Safety

Safety is a position group that is still a major question mark for the Bears and needs to be addressed. The kick/punt returner positions are also big question marks. Demps has the potential to fill both of these holes.

Demps brings a lot of versatility as well as a small price tag (730K in 2014) and he’s only 29. After newcomer Antrel Rolle, the depth becomes very shaky with no one that is really proven at this point. Personally, from what I saw from Brock Vereen and Ryan Mundy last year, I’m far from impressed. Plus, Demps and Rolle played together last year in New York and have created a rapport.

With the lack of an established return man (no, Marc Mariani is not established), Demps could also fill this major need. With his 26.7 career kickoff return average, he could be a major upgrade in an area where the Bears were very poor last year (2014 Bears = 23.5 yards/return).
