Measuring in at 6’3 and weighing close to 230 pounds, Jaylon Smith is all the talk on campus in South Bend, Indiana. Jaylon Smith is simply nasty on the field, and plays the game violently. Jaylon Smith could be just what the doctor had ordered, as he, and Pernell McPhee could bring back “The Monsters of the Midway.”

Smith does not only display lateral speed by being able to cover tight ends down the field, but he is also able to close in on ball carriers out of the back field. Smith has earned high praise from a number of scouts, and has even drawn the eye of Bleacher Report’s head NFL scout – Matt Miller. Miller discussed Smith’s acceleration speed in an article this past July. Miller stated “The next thing that stands out about Smith is that regardless of where he starts a play, he can finish a play anywhere on the field.
